Arnold Mollette

Arnold Mollette, age 94, of Red Jacket, W.Va., and formerly of Warfield, Ky., departed this life on Saturday Morning November 21, 2009, at his home following a lingering illness.

A son of the late Elias "Bud" and Nora Parsley Mollett, Arnold was born on April 29, 1915, in Warfield, Ky.

In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his loving wife Nell Triplett Mollette of 67 years, who passed away in 2003; five sisters Mildred Staker; Ruth Horn; Myrtle Perry; Maude Hutchinson; and Reba Chafin; two brothers James Mollett and Harold Mollett.

Mr. Mollette was a retired educator, having taught 30 years in the Martin Co., Ky., and Mingo Co., W.Va., school systems. He was also a WWII Army Veteran, serving five years in European Theater. Mr. Mollette was the Pastor of the Red Jacket Community Church of Red Jacket, W.Va., for more than 55 years, and was recently named Pastor Emeritus.

Arnold leaves to honor his loving memory and mourn his passing his son Arnold B. Mollette and his wife Angie Cline Mollette of Pineville, W.Va.; daughter Kathy Mollette Ditty of Ephrata Pennsylvania; brother John Mollett and his wife Virginia of Kermit, W.Va.; 3 grandchildren Sarah Bays and her husband Guy of Indian Trial, NC; Ryan and Bret Mollette both of Justice; 4 great grandchildren Bryan; Noah; Justin; and Zackary Bays all of Indian Trial, NC. Mr. Mollette is also survived by caregivers Amanda Parker and Carolyn Lecco and a host of family and friends.

Honoring services will be conducted on Tuesday November 24, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., from the Red Jacket Community Church of Red Jacket, W.Va., the body will lie in state an hour prior to the funeral service at the church, with the Rev. Bill Snodgrass officiating; burial will then follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens of Maher, W.Va.

Honoring graveside services will be conducted by Belfry, Ky. Chapter #141 of the DAV.

The family will begin receiving friends on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Chambers Funeral Services Chapel from 6-8 p.m.
